Terms of Service

Last updated: July 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OurCoParent (the "Service"), operated by OurCoParent, LLC ("OurCoParent", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

OurCoParent is a co-parenting tool that helps separated or divorced parents coordinate parenting-time schedules, shared expenses, reminders, travel, and communication. The Service is provided for organizational purposes only. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for a court order, custody agreement, or the guidance of a qualified attorney.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Family Teams and Co-Parent Data

The Service organizes information within a shared "family" workspace. Information you add — schedules, expenses, notes, and messages — may be visible to the other co-parent(s) and members of that workspace. Do not add information you are not willing to share with the other members of your workspace.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • violate any law or the rights of others, including any court order;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse another person;
  • upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant OurCoParent a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you provide.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third parties, including Google Calendar (to sync schedules and events), Stripe (to process subscription payments), and Venmo (to record payment handles for reimbursements). Your use of those integrations is also subject to the third party's own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services.

7. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges but does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid except where required by law. Fees and plan features may change with notice.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calendar or payment syncing will always succeed. OurCoParent does not provide legal, financial, or mediation services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OurCoParent, LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Iowa.
