Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OurCoParent, LLC ("OurCoParent", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use OurCoParent (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and authentication details when you register or sign in.
  • Family and parenting data — custody and parenting-time schedules, events, reminders, travel plans, expenses, and notes you enter.
  • Calendar connection data — if you connect Google Calendar, we store OAuth access and refresh tokens and the identifier of the calendar you choose, so we can sync events on your behalf.
  • Payment information — Venmo handles you enter for reimbursements, and billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment-card numbers; Stripe handles card data.
  • Usage and log data — an audit log of meaningful actions, plus technical data such as IP address and browser type.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and operate the Service, sync your schedules and events, process payments and subscriptions, maintain security and an audit trail, communicate with you, and improve the Service.

3. How Information Is Shared

  • With your co-parent(s). The Service is built around a shared family workspace. Schedules, expenses, and other content you add may be visible to the other members of that workspace.
  • With service providers. We share data with processors that help us run the Service, including Google (calendar sync), Stripe (billing), and Venmo (payment handles). They may use data only to provide their services to us.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account, after which we will delete or anonymize your data except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may access and update your account information, disconnect third-party integrations such as Google Calendar, and request that we delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. SMS / Text-Message Notifications

Text-message (SMS) notifications are 100% opt-in. We never send you a text unless you have taken all three of these steps: (1) added your mobile number in your notification settings, (2) verified that number with a one-time code, and (3) turned on the SMS option for a specific notification type. If you do nothing, you will not receive any text messages — email is the default and SMS stays off.

When you enable it, SMS is used only to send notifications you have opted into (for example, upcoming-event reminders and co-parenting activity in your family workspace). Message frequency depends on your settings and your family's activity. Message and data rates may apply. We use Twilio to deliver these messages and do not sell or share your phone number for marketing.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. In your Notifications settings you can turn SMS on or off for each notification type, change when messages are sent, or remove your phone number entirely (which turns SMS off everywhere). You can also reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Opting out of SMS never affects your email notifications or your ability to use the Service.

8. Children's Data

The Service is intended for use by adults (18+). While parents may enter schedule and expense information that relates to their children, the Service is not directed to children and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
